The first person who sends us a PM (private message) by the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2008 (yes... while all the firecrackers, and fireworks are exploding outside :p ) will be receiving a surprise gift pack courtesy of Stagg, and Forerunner Music.

the subject of the pm should be:

...and in the message proper, the following information should be written down:

- Complete Name

- Mobile Number/Contact Number (winner will be notified via text or phonecall... we promise to keep this information confidential... bassist's honor!!!)

The winning entry will be based on the time indicated on the message itself (be sure to set your timezone correctly).  In any case that more than one message has the same time stamp, the message that arrived first in the inbox will be declared winner (...since messages are stored chronologically anyways).  The subject, and message body should contain the stuff mentioned earlier, otherwise, the entry will be disqualified and the message that comes 2nd will be declared winner. The winner shall be announced on January 2.  The winner will then be notified via sms/phonecall regarding the details on how/when/and where to claim the prize (winner should be willing to pick-up the prize personally).

baguio gig... and thoughts...

I'm pretty excited about that.  They say the prog rock scene is alive and well in Baguio... the bands there are awesome daw... so i'm sure it will be one uber night! 

We will definitely go back there after the 26th... we'll bring other prog rock acts from manila... Fuseboxx, DC Aftershock, Salindiwa, etc... 

...if all goes well, this could be the start of the prog rock movement.

had a gig last saturday at Club Streakers... a newly opened bar along alabang zapote road in Las Piñas City.  It's co-owned by two good friends; RV and Keyo.  cool place... and the beer is cheap so YYIIIIPPPEEEEEE!!!! :-D 

gigs are always fun. but it's 10 million times more fun when friends drop by... 

the gig last saturday was fun X 10,000,000... stuffers Mark and Dog came... Dr. Paolo "tafuts" Amante was there... my bro Topher and Dog's bro Drew came too... di nakapunta si Pippo and si Vice pero oks lang, next time na lang...  we we're quite suspicious na umiiwas lang si Vice sa libre... weheheheh (oo nga pala Happy birthday Vice!)  ...and of course my baby was there.  :)

stuff... band photo shoot... gig...

ok... so i've been busy with gigs... and all of them were a blast... it's always good to cap your week with an awesome gig.  parang energized ka pag start ng bagong week. you start the new week with a silly smile on your face... like the smile i have right now... how many times did i say "week"?

Trina and I did the photo shoot for Eternal Now yesterday. We need new photos of the band for the profile and stuff.... so i volunteered. So nag team-up kami ni Trina since mahirap naman kunan na ako lang dahil kasama ako sa litrato. ehehehehe... tinuro ko lang sa kaniya kung ano gusto ko mangyari and she executed.... i'm so proud of her.... she did a super job... 

oh and in case you're wondering kung saan yung location namin...  sa bahay lang ni trina yan... there's this part where their old house used to be... it's so photogenic... ilang beses ko na ring ginamit na location yun para sa mga shoots ko. :)

ok there...

we have a gig coming up this saturday (May 5) sa south ulit... so i expect all my tropa to be there... ahem ahem!  it will be @ Club Streakers, along alabang-zapote road, Las Piñas City...

oh and there's Spidey 3.... pretty pysched about that too... well psyched about the fight scenes and CG.  ehehehe my buddies (stuffers Vice and Mark) have done a review of the movie i believe... do drop by JustStuff redux for the review...

Eternal Now... 8 years and going strong!

wow... 8 years!  To think 8 years ago, i didn't even know what progressive rock was.  Well i loved classical music and i thought about fusing some of its elements with rock... but i didn't know that some bands actually already did that.   

I found out about progressive music through a college friend.  JP  was a huge prog rock fan... he introduced me to Dream Theater, Rush, DMB etc... after my enlightenment, i never looked back. 

So anywho... then a blockmate introduced me to Pepe... she told me her cousin was looking for a bassist and that she told him about me.  So we met, and stuff... and then pepe gave me a study tape... he told me to listen to it and try to make my own bass line for the piece...

i got home, and immediately listened to the study tape... shit pickle...  i fuckin' had a hard time making a decent bass line.  the time signature was a bitch. wahahahaha.  i almost lost hope... i thought... man, if prog rock is gonna be this tough, i don't think i can hack it.  anyway, after spending the whole night... til the wee hours of the morning... trying to make a decent line... i finally finished the piece...  so i told pepe that i finished the piece... pepe being the critic that he was told me that we should jam so he can hear the line... so i agreed

we then jammed at Transound... a music studio just a few blocks from DLSU. the rest was history as they say... we then met up with Chad and Loubert...

Eternal Now was born.

and now 8 years after... the original line-up is back together:

who would've thought we'd last that long?  i was away for sometime because of some conflicts with my sched... had to stop playing because i had to work.  for a while i juggled work and my playing with the band... but photojournalism is a huge responsibility.  and i had to make a choice back then.  i don't regret that choice though... that time away made me mature, personally and musically.  and now that i'm back i'm more confident about my playing and i feel i can contribute more to the new sound of Eternal Now.  I still have a lot to learn of course... but learning is always fun, especially with these guys.  you see, we're not just bandmates... we are brothers.
